June 5 - Summer Dance

Engage in dancing and movement for three weeks with yoga, Pilates, and contemporary dance technique classes instructed by CSU Dance faculty and both regionally- and nationally-renown guest artists.


June 20 - Mandel Continuing Scholars Summer Seminar

Students admitted to CSU through the Mandel Continuing Scholars Program will receive a renewable scholarship for a maximum of 4 semesters. To remain eligible for the scholarship, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5.
The program will provide a stipend for full participation in the Mandel Continuing Scholars Summer Seminar.

July 5 - Summer Transition Enrichment Program (STEP)

Save Time, Save Money. Earn credits for FREE!

The Summer Transition Enrichment Program (STEP) is a six week college academic readiness program for incoming freshmen of CSU who:

1.) have tested into developmental math and/or English

OR

2.) are college ready who need BIO 100 or BIO 200 in fall 2023. All STEP students will be enrolled in ASC 100- Introduction to University Life.

July 10 - TRIO L.E.A.D.

Three-week, nine-day immersive experience for new first-time, first generation, Pell Grant eligible Cleveland State University students looking to begin their higher educational journey. The TRIO L.E.A.D. program provides students an opportunity to get to know the CSU campus, other incoming students, staff, and important on-campus resources available to them before the academic semester officially begins each fall. Students will get to know their Cleveland community by taking part in leadership, team-building, cultural, and uplifting experiences, while meeting some members of the northeast Ohio community who strongly support higher education initiatives. An added bonus for students taking part is the opportunity to earn a one-credit hour as part of the first-year ASC 101 course.

August 7 - ESS Engineering Student Success

Engineering Student Success Scholars is designed to help underrepresented students succeed in college. A cohort model approach targeting incoming freshman, transfer students, sophomores, and tech students.

August 13 - Summer Bridge Academy (SBA)

A one-week on-campus program that will help incoming CSU students and their families prepare to begin college in the fall. The SBA provides a residential experience as well as additional incentives and resources that will best support student transition from high school to college.    


August 14 - Operation STEM (OpSTEM) & Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP)

OpSTEM targets students pursuing all disciplines of engineering, data science, computer science, math, chemistry, physics, and biology (calculus track), in particular first-generation and minority students.

OpSTEM Scholars participate in a summer bridge program known as the OpSTEM Summer Institute. During the OpSTEM Summer Institute, scholars participate in math skills review sessions, explore and familiarize themselves with campus through self-guided activities, engage in STEM & motivational speaker series, make new friends who have similar interests and goals, receive academic course guidance, learn about free assistance resources on campus, and undergo ALICE Training. Additionally, scholars receive their Introduction to University Life General Education Requirement (ASC 101 or ESC 100) for their participation in the OpSTEM Summer Institute.

During the academic year, scholars will meet with their OpSTEM Coach, participate in supplemental instruction sessions led by STEM Peer Teacher (SPT*), attend professional development workshops, participate in the Engineering Connections Fair their Fall Semester, attend STEM speaker events, and attend social events. OpSTEM/LSAMP Scholars also receive mentoring and individualized attention needed to facilitate the successful completion of their STEM degrees.

*SPTs are fellow undergraduate students that provide the Scholars and fellow students with three weekly, 50-minute supplemental learning sessions in Precalculus and Calculus courses.
